Ethiopia (Addis Ababa): Editors and Owner Muslim Newsletter Released on Bail
The Editors of the two weekly Muslim Newsletters Al-Quds and Salafiyya Ato Ezedin Muhammed and Ato Ibrahim, and owner of the former, W/O Maria were released today, February 29, 2008. The three were arrested two weeks ago allegedly for publishing letters attributed to Ato Elias Redman. Initially police refused to complay with the order of the court to release them but finally released them with a warning not to write any thing about this man who enjoys the love and confidence of the ruling party and other anti-Islam, anti-Muslims fanatics for very long time now. Ato Elias is the right hand person of these bodies to manipulate the affairs of Muslim.

Abdi, Thank you very much. We all are glade that these heroes of our time are out of prison. Their release now and earlier is the result of unreserved effort of all of us - the brothers and sisters who take the info. from the board and make the bigger community aware, those who participate in various discussion forums and rooms, … and without exaggerations the Network of Ethiopian Muslims who avail this space for us to meet and share ideas and happening no matter how little it is. In this great effort of all segment of my dedicated my contribution is to be honest is very little especially to myself who aspire to do a lot and provide my visitors with deep analysis of the happening I often report.

ethiopianmuslims.net and nejashi do not represent non wahhabi Ethiopian muslims. We Ethiopian muslims who do not follow the wahhabi version of Islam do not associate ourselves with Ethiopianmuslims.net (wahhabi influenced wite) and nejashi clearly wahhabi influenced site.
stop spreading wahhabism among True Muslims of Ethiopia! Wahhabis veil the face of your wives or sisters if they choose to but stop propogating it to true muslim of Ethiopia.

Negashiexposed, it seems to me you are new to these websites . yes they do not represent us (non wahhabiya Ethiomuslims). the majority Diaspora Ethiomuslims just ignore them and their propoganda. by the way as you might read it the ministry of Education’s draft document is not anti-islam. the draft document doesn’t say don’t wear hijab as we know it (head scarf) but it seems that is not enough for wahhabis because it has to be niqab (full veil) just like in saudi arabia but ask them where in quran it says then they refer to their salafi sheikhs (i heard they even get their guidance directly from saudi arabia). and I guess they may get financial aid to run all these propoganda websites. infact the us government must suspend internet sites like these as all they do is propogate hate and orginizing unrest among ethiopian muslims. amazingly these very Diaspora salafi Ethiopians live in comfort somewhere in USA and create unrest for Ethiomuslims who live in peace in Ethiopia. they are a disgrace! what can i say. they are innovators yet they go around and tell they follow true islam. Liers and losers .

Dear Ahemed I believe you are confused our cause it shouldn’t be only Hijab vs. Niqab this will be decided by individual choice. My question to you do we have the same rite as other religions like Orthodox? Are we share holder of the country? Do you still believe Ethiopia is Christian I land/ Do we have preserved history? believe me I am not doing any thing but I always wish for all Ethiopian Peaces and prosperity .Pleas stop finger pointing! we will be jugged accordingly it doesn’t matter weather you put your self with this Mezhab or With that ! it count only if you do it rite .
The Quran supreme emphasis on the merit of good deeds as reflected by its continued declaration throughout the 23 years span of the revelation that only those believers will be rewarded with paradise who have been active in GOOD DEEDS.
Commandment on kindness to all people, regardless of faith, race and nationality(tribes) and including strangers, companion in journey, destitute and under one’s lawful truest (4:36)
Brother it doesn’t take brain surgery to know Ethiopian Muslim situation from reality of Axum, Ogadian or haw hard is to get permit to build a Mosque? In most case !
Lets narrow our differences between Muslim and work together for a better Ethiopia. Lets take advantage with this government this is open opportunity that shouldn’t be wasted. There is rule of law in Ethiopia that can be adjusted with our Islam.
May Allah give as the freedom to dream, to set and reach our goals ,to develop our mind and talents, and reach our fullest potential.
