Ethiopian Muslims International studio (EMIS) joined by Radio Negashi declared January 10, 2009 to be Gaza Soldarity Day Ethiopia. On this event various activities are planned. Distinguished guests are invited to brief participants on the status of Al-Quds and its current status, the sufferings of the Palestine people under the Israeli occupation and its inhumane treatment of the People since its establishement some 60 years ago and the reality on the the latest onslaught on Gaza and its citizens. All Ethiopians, irrispective of their belief, are invited to participate in the event. Below is the official invitation with detail on the event:

The worst atrocity of our time is in the making in Gaza. Twelve days have already passed since the Gazans are subjected to day and night attack from air, see and ground. The latest figure from medical sources shows that 697 defence-less citizens of Gaza are killed and more than 3085 wounded by the world’s most equipped Israeli force with the full support from the world’s superpower. This never-seen onslaught by on Gaza civilians caused a world uproar and ourcry. Ethiopians of all faith have also been enduring the pain and suffering of the peace-loving and freedom-thursty Gaza’s who have been kept in an-open air prision for so long and are subjected now to the worst atrocities ever. To commemorate this appaling action of the Israelis and show our solidarity with the people of Gaza, Ethiopian Muslims Interanational Studio (EMIS) and Negashi Radio have declared Saturday January 10, 2009 - Gaza Soldarity Day Ethiopia.

Onbehalf of EMIS and Radio Negashi, I am hearby inviting you and all Ethiopian you can reach to join us on this unique event. It is an apportunity to share feelings, opinion, vision and analysis on the ongoing atrocities by Israel on the people of Gaza. The discussin will be conducted principally on EMIS paltalk discussion forum but arrangement is also made to transmit the discussion through tele-conference so that those who can not join the paltak shall not miss this important discussion. 6. Special Prayer for those killed and wounded, the victims of Gaza in general (22:40 cet)
7. What is expected of Muslims in helping the Gazans and what lessons can be learnt by Ethiopian Muslims in their strive for equality and freedom (22:50 cet)

The briefings will be followed by open discussion and relevant actions to be taken.
