    Indeed, Ethiopia has lost one of the last remnannts of the old guards of Islam. The “Ethiopian Bukhari” is no more. For him the service for the cause of Islam is Great! But for the Ethiopian Muslim comunity, I would like to say, revive your old trdition of supporting the Ulama. Islam will not get any progress without a genuine participation of the Ulama. The Diaspora should personally and in group focus to fill this gap too. Individual efforts should be appreciated until institutional capacity is feasible. I know some individuals who are supporting their former Quranic teachers with a monthly salary. Do it now, not tomorrow.

    The late Haji Rafi was living a hard life with his diciples in a small room in Ambakoran Safar which was used as a library and semi-class room. It was really a pity. Finally, I call to the Majlis leadership to focus on supporting the Ulama rather than opening again the endless war on the so caleed “Wahabism”.
    May Allah Grant Janat al Firdaws for the Ethiopian Bukhari. Amen!
